Vice President Merchant Accounting, Netherlands

"I have learned about the private equity firms that hold the GlobalCollect investment in their portfolio, and I have expanded my knowledge of due diligence and the involvement of potential buyers in this process."

Before joining GlobalCollect, I spent six years at Siemens Netherlands, as a Business Controller and then as a Financial Accountant. When I decided to move on, I went in search of an industry where significant growth would be a relevant factor. After some investigation, I decided to focus on eCommerce and I also thought that it would be nice to work in a smaller company, where I could have more of an impact. I started working with a recruitment agency and ended up in a job interview with GlobalCollect’s VP of Planning & Business Control.

During the interview, I was interested in the changes and possibilities that were going on within the department and I was impressed by the employees’ energy. That was when I really got excited about my next career step with GlobalCollect.

Since starting here, I‘ve come to understand a great deal about the impact of growth on an organization. I have gained new skills in managing employees and embracing and encouraging change. Additionally I have learned about the scope and horizon of private equity firms that hold the GlobalCollect investment in their portfolio, and I have expanded my knowledge of due diligence and the involvement of potential buyers in this process. And perhaps most importantly, I have learned and am still learning about our cultural differences and ways to create a positive atmosphere, in order to be more productive and efficient.

I really enjoy GlobalCollect’s ambition and potential for growth. Next to that, I like my colleagues and the way we use humor to communicate with each other. I also value the career development opportunities that GlobalCollect offers its employees, from junior positions to more senior roles. It is an important factor in any career path, and I have noticed that our new parent company Ingenico is placing more focus on our human assets. Needless to say, I am happy with my career journey within GlobalCollect and I’m excited to take it further!
