Purpose of the role

The main objective of the Merchant Accounting department is the processing of all online transactions (payments, refunds, reversals, questions) into the offline platform for the following processes: File Handling, Remittance handling, Statement Processing & Matching and Transaction Monitoring. Each of these processes is owned by a Process Manager.

The Statement Processing & Matching employee is responsible for the timely (within KPI) and correct processing & matching of payments on bank statements within Merchant Accounting. He/She contributes to the delivery of the ‘Service Level Agreements’ for this process.

Deliverables / Tasks

  • The processing and reconciliation of payments, refunds and reversals from bank statements in the back-office systems
  • Payment inquiries in back-office systems
  • Contribute to the achievement of agreed service levels for products and processes
  • Give appropriate support to projects within the Merchant Accounting department
  • Ensuring completeness and accuracy of activity processed within Merchant Accounting
  • Challenge and optimize departmental  operational and administrative processes
  • Any other tasks and duties assigned within the scope of Merchant Accounting

Experience

  • Minimal MBO level
  • Affinity with automated/semi-automated processing of files
  • MS Office literate
  • Reasonable level of oral skills in both English and Dutch languages
