Purpose of the role

The Vendor Manager is responsible for the day to day business of a number of third party payment products and services and their corresponding suppliers. In addition, he/she is also responsible for ensuring a smooth and effective use of third party payment products and services. He/she is involved in the further development of the portfolio of available third party payment products and services, including alignment of existing third party suppliers with marketing, sales and business strategy. He/she is responsible for the successful operational liaison between third party suppliers and the Global Collect departments.
The Vendor Manager will support the Commercial Vendor Manager, assist in projects, support the commercial goals of the company. Furthermore he/she is responsible for handling incidents and escalations with vendors and/or internal departments and will maintain positive relations with both. Moreover, he/she is responsible for keeping the product and services knowledge up to date.The Vendor Manager reports to the VP Vendor Management

Deliverables / Tasks

  • Participate in projects to take new and existing payment channels/methods/tools live for existing suppliers
  • Maintain supplier and product information
  • Arrange supplier reviews
  • Support the Commercial Vendor Manager
  • Maintain cash management structure (remittance, interest, etc)
  • Manage SWIFT application administration
  • Handle supplier related questions
  • Set up and document local entities (including regulator related issues)
  • Manage escalations issued by suppliers and/or Global Collect departments
  • Keep knowledge up to date by attending conferences and supplier events
  • Train and inform other departments on supplier related topics

Department

Vendor Management is responsible for managing all aspects of the third party payment products and services that contribute directly to the Global Collect products and services portfolio. These third parties (called vendors or suppliers) mainly consist of next generation payment providers such as banks, (credit) card acquirers, payment gateways and fraud screening companies. Experience

  • Basic background in the financial / payment industry
  • Experience with working in project groups in the financial/IT sector
  • A banking background is preferred

Other significant role requirements

  • Willing to travel extensively to destinations throughout the world (30%)
  • Minimal Bachelor working and thinking level
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of the IT industry

Technical Knowledge

  • Experienced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experienced user of MS Windows
