Amsterdam, The Netherlands -- AVG Technologies, developers of the popular free anti-virus software AVG, have partnered with GlobalCollect to facilitate electronic payments in the 167 countries where AVG software is currently available.
With more than 110 million active users around the world, AVG security products support all major operating systems and platforms and are distributed globally through resellers as well as the Internet. Currently, credit card payments worldwide are being processed via GlobalCollect, while additional local and alternative payment methods such as eWallets, direct debits, and real-time bank transfers will be rolled out successively.
In this e-commerce partnership, AVG will leverage GlobalCollect’s Merchant Link solution, which gives AVG full control over the shopping cart and check out procedure while providing access to GlobalCollect’s unrivalled portfolio of local, alternative, and international payment methods. In addition, AVG will use GlobalCollect’s comprehensive Fraud Screening Service, which features a wide range of integrated fraud reduction tools to maximize transaction safety prior to authorization.
“As AVG continues to grow its customer base on a global scale, today totalling over 110 million, we have a lot of customers who prefer to have local payment options. Working with GlobalCollect will enable us to get closer to our customers, speak their language on both the website and within the application as well as make purchasing a user-friendly experience,” said JR Smith, CEO AVG Technologies. “We want to make it easy for people to buy our products - partnering with GlobalCollect for e-commerce is another step in executing that vision.”
Jan Manten, CEO of GlobalCollect, added, “We extend a warm welcome to AVG and look forward to assist selling its range of security software by reaping the synergetic benefits of processing payments from all its online sales channels worldwide via our single-interface WebCollect platform.”
