Ingenico ePayments, the online and mobile commerce division of Ingenico Group today announced that it has entered into a partnership agreement to provide payment processing and fraud management services to Barceló Hotels & Resorts.
It became clear to Barceló that Ingenico ePayments could offer the most comprehensive solution after a thorough analysis of the different payment service providers. “We knew that we needed to unify and optimize all our e-payments, which were being managed through many different payment processors, each with different capabilities and configurations,” said José Miguel Palou Larrañaga, E-commerce Project Manager of Barceló Hotels & Resorts. “Ingenico ePayments demonstrated a unique capability to customize solutions and tailor different alternatives for each business unit, in different countries and based on different needs, making our choice clear. We were also impressed with their scalability and omni-channel approach,” proclaimed Palou.
Barceló has hotels and resorts in 19 different countries and they offer accommodations to customers of 30 different countries, leading to a complex ePayments arrangement. With more than 100 hotels to manage, Barceló was seeking an advanced technology platform and payments portfolio that was in line with their customers’ needs. With this collaboration, Ingenico ePayments will be providing Barceló with new payment methods and currency options, both locally and internationally, as well as helping them increase the volume of authorization rates. Furthermore, Barcelo’s hotels across the globe will receive separate reports tailored to their specific needs, to support the company’s local business units. Essentially, there will be more Barceló’s guests from around the world able to book and pay in their native currency and with their preferred payment product. Additionally, Ingenico ePayments will be working with Barceló on automatic reconciliation and fraud control, so that Barceló can continue to provide its customers with the best services possible.
