GlobalCollect and merchants cycle 534 km from London to Amsterdam to raise money for charity

The bike ride team conquers 534 kilometers in four days from London to Amsterdam and raised € 25,000.00.

At our perspectives '12 conference, GlobalCollect announced its commitment to raise €25,000 together with clients and partners to fund SMS Health Project in Vanuatu. This project will greatly improve the communication and education of Health workers who have to service an area of 83 islands extending 1,300 km.

Here are some highlights of these four very special days:

June 27, the day before...

June 28, day 1: Discovering the hills of England
London (UK) - Calais (France); 140 kilometers Time on bike: nearly 12 hrs

This very hilly stage started with flat tires, and what a day it would be! This most strenuous stage of the four days took the most out of everyone and we made it just in time for the latest ferry to cross the channel.

June 29, day 2: Pain everywhere, but 'we must go on'
Calais (France) - Knokke (Belgium); 140 kilometers Time on bike: 7 hrs

Pain in behinds, sore legs, well, actually pain everywhere! But no pity, we'll go on... Though the 15 minute walk at the end of the day felt like miles...

June 30, day 3: The longest ride
Knokke (Belgium) - Hoek van Holland (Holland); 160 kilometers Time on bike: 9 hrs

The second cross over; to Hoek van Holland. Today we were hoping that it would be a shorter ride, but it became the longest with a 160 kilometers! Luckily, we had Tunga 'wife-mother-mental coach' with us to take care of us.

July 1, day 4: Finally, downwind! Looking forward to meet our loved ones and colleagues at the finish
Hoek van Holland to Amsterdam city centre; 80 kilometers Time on bike: 5 hrs

"Finish" reception in Amsterdam on July 1

We made it and we are going to do it again next year!
