GlobalCollect has partnered with Retail Decisions to provide the industry benchmark Card Not Present (CNP) fraud protection, the GlobalCollect Fraud Screening Service. With this service, your transactions are screened and processed directly through WebCollect, in less than a second!

How it Works

fssThis service enables merchants to automatically accept, reject or challenge transactions processed through WebCollect according to the level of potential risk of each transaction. A risk threshold is determined per merchant in the implementation phase, depending on the profile of the merchant and the industry in which it operates. Challenged transactions are presented to the merchant who after further investigation may decide to accept it or reject it. A Customer Service Interface (CSI), a user specific web browser facility, will provide details of transactions and the responses in near real-time.

Fraud Screening Service incorporates all the techniques, which have proven to give effective fraud detection results in the Card Not Present Transaction industry, and integrates them in a single easy to use interface within WebCollect.

Service Modules

  • Fraud Analysts: management of the modules described below to ensure that the service is up to date with current fraud trends and market requirements.
  • Screening Databases: information provided by Card Schemes and Card Issuers as well as charge back data is checked.
  • Complex Rules Processing: each transaction is checked against rules designed according to the profile of the merchant. The rules can utilize the many different data variables and can perform simple, compound, and relational checks.  For example for merchants selling electronic goods, do not accept order if the delivery address does not match the country where the credit card was issued.
  • Pattern recognition software: ability to detect tumbling and swapping patterns through algorithms as part of the real time risk management processing for credit card number, email address, and expiration date.
  • Neural Networks: The neural component of ebitGuard currently uses eFalcon from HNC.  eFalcon uses neural-network-based statistical models to determine the probability of fraud on each transaction.  Unlike simple expert rules and linear artificial intelligence models, the HNC neural-network models analyse a large number of combinations of variables and the “non-linear” relationships among a consumer’s spending patterns in order to predict fraud accurately.
