Software Test Engineer

Purpose of the role

The objective of the Product Development team (PD) is to develop and manage the software product portfolio. PD adds value by creating marketable products to help our customers become more successful and by supporting GlobalCollect’s internal business processes.
Professionalism, ambition, speed, flexibility and open communication are characteristics of the department. The team is highly international and the working language is English.

The key objectives of the Software Test Engineer role are to validate developed systems against requirements specifications and troubleshoot production issue reports.

Deliverables / Tasks

• To validate that systems meet the business requirements and advise regarding the production release of systems.
• To deliver Test Plans, Test Execution Reports and User Acceptance Test reports.
• To advise Program Managers, Developers and Customers regarding the application of the PD Quality Control process to software systems.

Critical Competencies

• Analytical, methodical and disciplined approach to software validation.
• Ability to keep a cool head under stress.
• Enjoys working in a matrixed environment with multiple ongoing projects.
• We are looking for both English speakers and fluent Dutch speakers. Other languages may be an asset.

Experience

• Educated in information technology to HBO (or equivalent) level.
• Both junior and more senior (3-5 years experience) roles are available. 
• Experience of mission critical 24*7 OLTP environments is advantageous.

Technical Knowledge

• UNIX, Java and (ORACLE) database systems 
• Experience in at least one Test Methodology – TMap, Scrum, Agile
• Experience of Test Automation and Defect Tracking tools
